Professor Mary O'Callaghan

Assistant Teaching Professor of Irish Language and Literature and Fellow of the Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies

Ms. O'Callaghan has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the National University of Ireland and a Graduate Diploma in Primary Education from the University of Limerick. She joined the Department of Irish Language and Literature in fall, 2010, as an Assistant Teaching Professor, having visited in 2008-2009 as the Government of Ireland Teaching Assistant in the Department.

A native of County Cork, O'Callaghan teaches Beginning Irish I & II. She has been teaching in Ireland mainly in Irish language immersion schools. She is interested in the areas of Second Language Acquisition and Bilingualism. 

Mary's office hours are: Mondays & Wednesdays 3:00-4:30 and by appointment
